As part of 2023 International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application in Shandong University, the Symposium on Frontiers of Mathematics and Analysis, Control and Application of Complex Systems was successfully held on November 25, 2023. Vice Dean Bingqiang Liu addressed the opening ceremony of the conference, representing SDU scholars. Vice Dean Tianyang Nie, Prof. Zongyuan Huang, Assoc Prof. Yongyuan Yu, faculty and student representatives of the School of Mathematics attended the conference as well.

The Symposium is jointly hosted by the School of Mathematics and the School of Control Science and Engineering online and offline, with 11 internationally renowned experts invited to report and a total of more than 250 people attending. It focuses on advanced application and interdisciplinary research in the fields of frontiers of mathematics as well as analysis, control and application of complex systems, providing a platform for participants to exchange views in depth so as to promote academic exchanges as well as interdisciplinary research and to deepen and expand international cooperation and integration of industry, education, research and application.

At the symposium, scholars and experts from the National University of Singapore, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, University of Waterloo, the Ohio State University, Vanderbilt University, University of Rennes 1 and so on gave talks on cutting-edge academic topics including bioinformatics, Data-Centric AI, stochastic impulse control, BSDEs, energy transition, etc. In-depth communication and discussions were also carried out between reporters and attendees, winning unanimous approval and recognition.

The International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application is founded by the Ministry of Education since 2018 and is held annually to foster high-level cooperative talent cultivation and to enhance high-quality global partnership as a bridge between universities, research institutes, and enterprises home and abroad. Organized by National Center for Schooling Development Programme as well as the Department of Education of Shandong Province and undertaken by Shandong University, the 2023 International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application in Shandong University was held from November 25 to November 26, with three symposiums of the conference themed respectively around "Advanced Manufacturing and Equipment", "Frontiers of Mathematics and Analysis, Control and Application of Complex Systems”, and "Materials Processing Technology".
